Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Lock button do?
Lock pins that specific line in place. If you lock an original phrase, the final image leaves that text and background area untouched. If you edit a translation and lock it, we paint your exact custom text instead of rerunning AI translation.
Can I edit the translation before it goes on the image?
Yes. Translate text in image where each detected line appears in an editable field so you can modify wording, adjust phrasing, or remove lines before generating.
Does suggesting a translation use credits?
No. Translation suggestions are free, subject to fair-use rate limits (guests receive one suggestion run per image). Generating the final rendered image consumes credits based on resolution.
Will numbers, prices, and brand names stay the same?
The translation model is instructed to preserve numbers, currencies, units, and brand terms. Because automated translations can vary, you should always review these fields before rendering.
Why is there no Skip button?
We replaced Skip with Lock. Translate text in image with locking, which is much more reliable because it tells the inpainting engine not to overwrite that region, ensuring that logos, untranslated labels, or artist signatures remain preserved.
Is this the same as overlaying a caption?
No. ReWords does not place plain text boxes over your image. It removes the original lettering and paints the new text directly into the graphic background.
Do I need the original design file?
No. ReWords works directly with flattened PNG, JPG, and WebP files without requiring source project files like PSDs.
Can I lock a line so it is not re-translated?
Yes. Locking a line retains your current text and prevents subsequent translation suggestions from overwriting it.
